There is a lot happening in Minnesota.
The atrocious cruelty on display, alongside the blatantly illegal and thoroughly reprehensible actions by federal agents being committed repeatedly and continously in our community right now are beyond unacceptable.
But the outpouring of love from neighbors for neigbors has been a joy to witness.
In addition to making time for local mutual aid and community care over the last few weeks, I've taken time to create art about and for this moment, as have many other artists throughout the state, the country, and the world. Art and creation are always key aspects of the human experience, but they become all the more important in dire, difficult, frightening, and uncertain times.
I wanted what art I'm making in this moment to be readily available to anyone who feels that it speaks to them or how they're feeling about the situations at hand. It's my belief that art born of collective feelings and experiences, speaking to collective resistance and hope, should be available for collective use.
All art available on this page - #FreeArt - was created by humans, for humans, and is free to download, modify, reshare, and print in whatever formats feel good and are accessible to you. If you've got art you'd like to share, feel free to reach out via khiara@khiartistry.com and we can discuss from there!
There are myriad different assorted local organizations that are doing fantastic work in the community through all of this chaos.
This website has a helpful directory with many of those organizations, along with links to other resources and direct aid options of various varieties: https://www.standwithminnesota.com/
Beyond monetary contributions, this is definitely an all-hands-on-deck sort of situation, so any help you can offer in your own local spaces in regards to organizing, resource distribution, and mutual aid coordination is absolutely invaluable. We're all in this together, and many hands make light work.
Thank you all, keep fighting the good fight.
